Increase in Human Trafficking

There has been a 35% increase in human trafficking from 2015. There were 8042 cases in 2016.

Increase in Survivors reaching out for help.

In 2016 2042 Survivors contacted the Hotline, which is about a 24% increase since 2015.

Victims of sex trafficking are most often trafficked by their intimate partners, while labor trafficking happens often through job offers.

Increase in labor trafficking.

Although there has been 47% increase in labor trafficking, it is underreported. Unlike sex trafficking labor trafficking goes unnoticed because of a lack of awareness.
